Drug Suspect Ifeyanyi Ambrose Ezeh Remanded in Custody Following Marble Hall Narcotics Arrest

MPUMALANGA – A 47-year-old drug suspect, Ifeyanyi Ambrose Ezeh, has been remanded in custody following a targeted narcotics arrest in Marble Hall. Ezeh appeared before the Marble Hall Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 17 August 2026, facing charges of dealing and possession of illicit substances, and will remain in custody until 28 August 2026 pending a formal bail application.

The apprehension occurred on Sunday, 16 August 2026, at approximately 07:00. The arrest was the result of an intelligence-led operation conducted by members of the Provincial Organised Crime Investigations: Narcotics Unit.

Acting on credible information that an adult male was traveling from Pretoria to Marble Hall to allegedly deliver narcotics, law enforcement officers monitored the R33 road. Police successfully identified, intercepted, and stopped a white Volkswagen Polo R-Line matching the provided description.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a black plastic bag containing 10 balls of suspected heroin and 15 sachets of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Authorities have estimated the street value of the confiscated drugs at R40,000.

Ezeh was immediately taken into custody, and both the suspected narcotics and the vehicle were seized as evidence. A spokesperson for the Provincial Organised Crime Investigations: Narcotics Unit confirmed that police investigations are continuing as authorities work to build the case ahead of the upcoming bail hearing.

This operation underscores ongoing law enforcement efforts to intercept illicit drug supply chains and remove dangerous substances from local communities.
