LIMPOPO — The Limpopo Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Jan Scheepers, demonstrated extraordinary hands-on leadership this week when he personally intervened in an active foot pursuit in Modimolle. While conducting a series of unannounced police station evaluations with his management team, the top-ranking officer did not hesitate to step out of his official vehicle and join local law enforcement in chasing down a fleeing suspect.
The unexpected incident unfolded as the provincial command convoy was traveling through the area. Upon noticing a local police officer in pursuit of an individual attempting to evade arrest, Lieutenant General Scheepers immediately ordered his vehicle to stop. Exiting the car without delay, he physically joined the ground units in the chase, playing a direct role in the successful apprehension of the suspect.
Following the arrest, authorities processed the individual and identified them as an undocumented foreign national.
