PUBLIC ORDER POLICE ARREST A SUSPECT FOR GANG-RELATED ACTIVITY IN MITCHELLS PLAIN

At approximately 01:00 on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, members of the SAPS Public Order Policing (POP) unit conducted a crime-combating operation in Mitchells Plain.

During a stop-and-search patrol, officers received intelligence regarding drugs being sold at a specific residence in the area. Police operationalized the information and proceeded to the identified location in Silvermyn Street, Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain.

Upon searching the suspect’s house, authorities recovered 20 units of heroin, 145 sachets of tik (methamphetamine), and 200 mandrax tablets.

A 30-year-old male suspect was apprehended for possession of drugs. He is scheduled to appear soon before the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court.
