A multi-disciplinary operation conducted by members of Tzaneen Visible Policing resulted in the arrest of a male suspect in Aqua Park, Tzaneen, on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
Police executed a search at a residential premises in the area. During the search, members discovered and seized 228 cartons of illicit cigarettes branded Royal Express. The estimated street value of the cigarettes is approximately R25,000.00.
In addition to the cigarettes, members seized one 9mm Norinco pistol, eight rounds of 9mm ammunition, and an amount of R10,850.00 in cash.
The suspect was immediately arrested at the scene. He is expected to appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.
Police investigations are ongoing.
