Police Arrest 23-Year-Old Man for Alleged Murder of Neighbour

Police have arrested a 23-year-old male suspect in connection with the alleged murder of his 30-year-old female next-door neighbour.

According to police reports, the half-naked body of the victim was discovered in the bush on Monday, 20 April 2026. She was found by local women who were collecting firewood. The women alerted members of the local Community Policing Forum. The victim was found with bruises on her body and was certified dead at the scene.

Following the discovery, and with the assistance of the local community, police arrested the 23-year-old suspect, who is reported to be the victim’s immediate next-door neighbour.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Marapyane Periodical Court on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, to face a charge of murder. Police have indicated that additional charges may be added pending further investigation.
