Police in Limpopo have arrested a 54-year-old man in connection with the alleged rape of four children between the ages of 7 and 9 in Manoge village, Seleteng.
The arrest was made by the Lebowakgomo Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) Unit following an incident that reportedly occurred on Thursday, 16 April 2026, between 09:00 and 11:00.
According to a preliminary police investigation, the four children were playing together when they went to the suspect’s residence, located a few houses away. Upon arrival, the suspect allegedly took the first two children inside the house and raped them before releasing them. He then allegedly instructed the remaining two children to enter the house and raped them as well.
Police reports indicate that the suspect threatened the victims, instructing them not to disclose the incident to their parents. The matter came to light after the grandmother of one of the victims observed unusual behavior and questioned the child, who then reported the assault. The victims’ mothers were subsequently notified and reported the matter to police.
The FCS unit took over the investigation, leading to the suspect’s apprehension. The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 20 April 2026, facing four counts of rape.
