GAUTENG — In a decisive move against violent syndicates, four Pretoria West hijacking suspects were arrested after a massive multidisciplinary police operation intercepted a vehicle linked to a string of serious offenses. The coordinated bust, which took place in Danville on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, has yielded a significant cache of illegal weapons and stolen property.
According to the Gauteng police spokesperson, the suspects—four young men aged between 22 and 26—are now in custody facing multiple severe charges, including the possession of unlicensed firearms, illegal ammunition, and a hijacked motor vehicle.

A subsequent search of the hijacked Nissan Micra revealed alarming evidence that points to a highly organized criminal enterprise. Investigators recovered three unlicensed firearms along with matching ammunition. Furthermore, the vehicle contained false registration plates, stained banknotes, and multiple cellphones, all of which have been seized for forensic analysis.
