KWAZULU-NATAL — Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has issued a formal apology after a leaked video surfaced showing him in a heated dispute with his third wife, Queen Nomzamo Myeni. The footage, reportedly recorded inside the royal household, prompted the monarchy to publicly address the conduct of the monarch.
The viral video captures an emotionally charged argument in which the Zulu monarch is seen berating Queen Nomzamo Myeni and demanding that she leave the palace.
In an official statement addressing the incident, spokespeople for the royal household acknowledged the severity of the situation. The representatives admitted that the King’s expressions during the confrontation fell far short of the dignity, restraint, and decorum that the nation rightfully expects from its sovereign.
King Misuzulu kaZwelithini acknowledged that his actions during the dispute caused profound pain, disappointment, and embarrassment. He extended his apologies to the Royal Family, the amakhosi, and the broader Zulu Nation for the distress caused by the public leak and his behavior. Furthermore, the monarch specifically apologized to the leadership of the Nazareth Baptist Church for harsh words directed at them during the altercation.
