The Knysna police opened an inquest docket after the body of a woman was found in bushes near a gravel road at the Red Bridge on Friday, 12 December 2025, at approximately 09:00.
A member of the public discovered the body and alerted authorities. Police were directed to the scene where they found the deceased at an advanced stage of decomposition. The victim had a tattoo reading “444” on the left side of her chest.
The circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation.
