Two separate police operations in the Cape Town metro resulted in drug busts and arrests over the weekend, according to official reports.
In the first incident, members of Operation Shanela II, deployed in the Khayelitsha area, conducted a search of a premises on Madayi Crescent, Khayelitsha, on Saturday night. The operation led to the arrest of a 33-year-old male for possession of drugs.
During the search, officers discovered 201 small packets of crystal meth concealed within a room. The suspect is scheduled to make his first appearance in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

In an unrelated matter, Operation Shanela II members deployed in the Manenberg area searched a premises on Sein Road, Manenberg. The operation resulted in the confiscation of a large quantity of dagga found on the property.
A 34-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene for possession of dagga. He is expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
