FREE STATE. – Madala Ntombela (68) and Sefora Ntombela (66) were attacked and robbed this morning between 02:00 and 03:00 in their house on the farm Holfontein in the Heilbron area.
Brig. Motantsi Makhele says the couple woke up to a group of unknown suspects trying to open their bedroom door. The suspects, who managed to gain access to the bedroom, attacked the couple. The house was ransacked in search of money and the suspects fled with mobile phones, bank cards and other items.
Sefora Ntombela called for help from the police.
Mahleke says the couple were not seriously injured and the police are still present at the scene investigating.
A case of house robbery has been registered.
