Rasta Kenosi, who is suspected by the residents of the Tosca area of stock theft and poisoning, was granted this morning for R5 000 on three unrelated charges of attempted murder in the Genyesa Magistrate’s Court. However, he is still in custody for another charge against him.

According to Naudé Pienaar, Deputy General Manager of Agri-Northwest, the reason for the bail is apparently a chronic illness. He says they are shocked by the latest developments, especially the bail amount in relation to the degree of charges against Kenosi.

“The message sent out that Kenosi does not pose a danger to the environment and society is absolutely false,” he added.

Agri-Northwest is currently in talks with the prosecutor and involved on the justice’s possible reflection and reasoning behind the bail ruling.

Findit previously reported on Ockert Goosen whose cattle were initially stolen in the Bray area. Later, 44 of his cattle were allegedly poisoned by Kenosi after Goosen’s father asked him to stop the alleged stock theft.

Kenosi was arrested on December 14 with accomplices for attempted murder and other charges. During his detention, 32 cattle were poisoned on Adolph Reyneke’s farm near Tosca.

Tewie Wessels said on Facebook that Kenosi, according to the sitting judge, is not a flight risk and will not interfere with the witnesses.

“This is once again proof of how there will be no justice for us in the current order. Tosca farmers will have to draw the proverbial camp. ”

Rasta Kenosi remains in custody for the ruling on a complaint of malicious damage against him.
