IMPORTANT NOTICE: SASOLBURG – Sasol in Sasolburg says it will conduct a legally required emergency exercise from 11:00 to 13:00 tomorrow, 18 October 2023. Acting Manager Media and Communications, Elsabe Ras, said in a statement the exercise forms part of regular exercises during which local emergency services join forces to test their readiness to respond to incidents that have the potential to impact Sasol as well as the community. On the day, emergency services from Sasol and Metsimaholo Local Municipality as well as the SAPS will participate. Ras said the exercise will involve the Sasol One Plant, while Leeuwspruit Primary and Afrikaanse Hoërskool Sasolburg will test their emergency plans at the same time. She said to allow learners to evacuate the school safely, roads around the schools will be closed for the duration of the exercise, Lemmer Street in particular. The road closures will be managed by the Metsimaholo Traffic Department.
