Farmer robbed in KwaNojoli
Eastern Cape police are on the hunt for three suspects involved in an armed robbery on Tuesday, at a farm in KwaNojoli, formerly Somerset East.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says a 79-year-old farmer was feeding ostriches in front of his house when three men who accosted a worker, approached him.
She says the farmer and the 32-year-old employee were forced into the house and were tied up.
Naidu says the farmer’s 47-year-old girlfriend was forced to open the safe where they took a hunting rifle, a revolver, and cash.
The suspects also took two television sets and two cell phones and fled in the farmer’s Isuzu bakkie.
Anyone with information to assist the investigation should contact their nearest police station.
