Nat QuinnKeymasterA farm attack took place on Sunday 29 January 2023, at 05:00, on a farm near Brits in the North West province of South Africa.
Anet Coetzee (57), who stays in the home with her young son was in the bathroom and as she came out she walked into an unknown child in the home.
The child ran and escaped through her bedroom window.
As she went to close the window and investigate an unknown number of attackers opened fire on her from outside.
Anet Coetzee was shot in the face, shoulder and chest but still managed to call for help.
All role players responded and Coetzee was transported to hospital in a critical condition.
Police are investigating but there have been no arrests.

British woman shot in the head on farm Anet Coetzee of Brits in North West has been hospitalized in critical condition after she was shot in the head this morning. Col. Adele Myburgh, provincial police spokesperson, confirmed to AfriNews that the incident took place at 05:00 this morning. According to the police report, the 45-year-old woman and her 10-year-old son were on a farm outside Brits when the incident occurred. Coetzee was reportedly on her way to the bathroom this morning when she noticed the burglar in the home. The suspect fled through the window, after which Coetzee closed the window. With the window closed she was shot in the head. Her son was found unharmed. The woman was then transported to the local hospital. No one has been arrested yet, but a case of attempted murder is under investigation. Anyone with information can call Sergeant Lucky Tapala on 076 858 3078 or the Stop Crime number on 086 001 0111.
