FARM ATTACK

HPG Mokopane and Bassopa security were called out just after 5 this morning to a farm attack /kidnapping on the same farm outside Mokopane in the Percy Fyfe area that was robbed on the 2nd December 2023. Six suspects entered the premises by cutting the electrical wire. The suspects went to the labourers house where they broke open the door. The attackers assaulted, blindfolded and tied up the labourers. Keys for the house were taken from a labourer and the house was unlocked. The suspects loaded the solar system, furniture, electrical goods, clothes, kitchenware and garden tools onto the farmer’s hunting vehicle and venter trailer. The suspects forced the two labourers onto the vehicle and drove with them in the direction of Polokwane. After about 30km from the farm, the suspects drove the vehicle into the field and unloaded the stolen goods next to the tar road where they drove the trailer and the vehicle deeper into the field. According to the labourers, two other vehicles stopped and loaded the items after which one suspect released the two labourers and fled with another vehicle. Just after 4 this morning, they stopped a local farmer to raise the alarm. SAPS Mokopane and SAPS Westenburg are investigating the matter.
