Limpopo. – An elderly woman, 84, was allegedly raped on Wednesday morning after breaking into her home in Mookgopong at about 1:30.
According to Brig. Hlulani Mashaba allegedly slept the elderly victim when the suspect gained access through a window. After allegedly raping her, he fell asleep. The woman was able to escape and went to the neighbors for help. Investigation was instituted immediately, but the suspect apparently managed to flee.
Police and emergency services were called, after which the Victim was taken to hospiat for medical treatment.
Police have registered a case of housebreaking and rape that will be investigated by Modimolle-GKS.
“This abhorrent incident does not reflect the values of our community, and we vehicle denouncy any form of violence, especially against vulnerable members of society. Our commitment to the safety and well-being of every resident remains unwavering. We urge anyone with information related to this crime to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation, ”says Lt. Gen. Thembi Hadebe.
