KIMBERLEY — A life sentence has been officially handed down in the tragic Soul City murder case by the Kimberley High Court, ensuring that the perpetrator of a brutal gender-based crime faces the full extent of the law. On Friday, 28 August 2026, 31-year-old Shaderick Seane was convicted and sentenced for the killing of a 28-year-old woman, concluding a nearly year-long legal process.
The severe charges stem from a grim discovery made on Tuesday, 02 September 2025, when the victim’s body was found inside a residence in Soul City, Galeshewe. A subsequent post-mortem examination revealed that the young woman had been violently assaulted and strangled, with strangulation officially recorded as the cause of death. Investigators determined that the deceased had been left inside the home for approximately two days, spanning from Sunday, 31 August 2025, until her body was finally discovered by authorities.
The breakthrough in the case was driven by Detective Warrant Officer Brendon Boraine of the Kagisho Detective Unit. Following a meticulous and diligent probe, Boraine successfully tracked down and arrested Seane. The accused was subsequently denied bail and remained in police custody awaiting trial, which ultimately culminated in his conviction and maximum sentencing late last month.
