Fisantekraal Drug Bust: Two Arrested After Durbanville Police Seize Tik

DURBANVILLE, WESTERN CAPE — Following a major Fisantekraal drug bust, Durbanville Police have arrested two individuals and confiscated a significant quantity of tik during targeted weekend anti-crime operations.

The crackdown was initiated by the Durbanville Crime Prevention Unit, which executed a series of search and seizure missions spanning Friday, June 12, 2026, through Saturday, June 13, 2026.

During the initial phase of the operation on Friday, officers scoured the Fisantekraal squatter camp and uncovered 55 straws of the illicit substance. This discovery led to the immediate apprehension of a 33-year-old man, who was taken into custody on charges of both dealing and possession.

Law enforcement efforts continued into the weekend. On Saturday, police zeroed in on a location along Birch Street in the same neighborhood. This subsequent raid resulted in the detention of a 45-year-old man. During a search, authorities confiscated 110 individually packaged sachets of tik, which have since been formally logged into the police system as official exhibits.

Both suspects are currently being held at the Durbanville South African Police Service (SAPS) detention facilities. They remain in custody and are scheduled to make their first appearances at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court as soon as formal charges are finalized against them.
