21-Year-Old Suspect to Appear in Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on House Robbery Charges

A 21-year-old man is scheduled to appear before the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 02 June 2026, facing a charge of house robbery following his arrest in connection with an incident in Modimolle.

According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday, 30 May 2026, at approximately 17:40. A female victim was walking along a street in Modimolle when she was allegedly approached by a suspect who attempted to rob her of her backpack. The bag reportedly contained cash, an identity document, house keys, and medication.

The victim fled to a nearby residence seeking safety. The suspect allegedly pursued her, forcibly entered the house, assaulted her, and took the backpack before fleeing the scene.

A case of house robbery was registered at Modimolle SAPS for investigation. Through intelligence-led operations conducted by Modimolle Detectives, the suspect was positively identified and arrested on Monday, 01 June 2026, in Mandela Village, Modimolle.

The suspect is expected to face a formal charge of house robbery when he appears in court on Tuesday, 02 June 2026. Police investigations remain ongoing.
