Police in Thabazimbi, under the Waterberg District, have arrested a 54-year-old man for the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl inside a mall restroom.
The incident took place on 30 April 2026 at approximately 15:00 at a local mall, according to police reports.
The victim was at the mall with her friend and her friend’s father. She went to the female restroom and, upon exiting, found her friend’s father waiting at the door. He allegedly forcibly took her into the male restroom and raped her. The suspect also threatened her not to report the incident.
The matter was reported to police on 4 May 2026 after the victim informed her mother. A case was opened immediately, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Thabazimbi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 6 May 2026. Police investigations are ongoing.
