A 40-year-old Ghanaian man was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport on Friday, 01 May 2026, after the Movement Control System (MCS) flagged him in connection with a case registered by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Linden.

According to authorities, the suspect allegedly defrauded the South African Revenue Service (SARS) by submitting fraudulent tax returns during the 2017 tax year. The illegal activities resulted in a financial loss exceeding R350,000.00 for SARS.
