Police have recovered a knife believed to be the weapon used in the murder that occurred in Bronville on Sunday, 5 April 2026. The recovery follows the arrest of five suspects in connection with the alleged homicide.
During investigations on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, one of the suspects disclosed the location of the hidden weapon. The suspect was formally booked out of police holding cells for investigative purposes and led officers to a bushy area in Bronville, near the scene of the crime.
Police confiscated one black knife found concealed in the bush. The item was officially booked into evidence and will be submitted for forensic analysis.
The five suspects are expected to appear before the Welkom Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday, 8 April 2026.
