Police Seek Public’s Help After Woman’s Body Found

Authorities in Phuthaditjjhaba have launched an investigation and are appealing for information following the discovery of the body of a 22-year-old woman.

The deceased has been identified as Bosisiwe Mofokeng, a resident of Matsikeng Village in Qwaqwa.

According to police reports, the body was discovered on a recent date by a shepherd tending to his cattle in Clubview Village. The shepherd noticed bloodstains along a footpath and followed them to a nearby donga (erosion gully), where he located the body. He subsequently alerted residents in the vicinity, who contacted the police. A family member later positively identified the victim.

Upon arrival at the scene, attending officers observed that the victim had suffered fatal open wounds to the head, eye, and knee.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Mofokeng was last seen on Saturday, 14 February 2026, in the company of her boyfriend.

A case of murder has been registered for investigation. The Phuthaditjhaba Detectives are requesting anyone with information that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) to come forward.
