
The Free State Welkom Anti-Gang Unit arrested three suspects on Wednesday morning in connection with a house robbery and murder in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal.
At about 08:00, members of the unit received intelligence regarding the incident, which was registered at Upper Tugela Police Station. The information was received through the Free State Look-Out group.
Police, assisted by a tracker, proceeded to a house in Sebokeng Village, Qwaqwa, within the Namahadi policing precinct. Upon arrival, officers found two suspects seated in a white Isuzu bakkie with KwaZulu-Natal registration plates. The vehicle had been reported stolen during the Bergville house robbery.
The two suspects were arrested. Both were under the influence of alcohol. Vehicle keys were recovered from the pocket of one suspect.
Further investigation led to the arrest of a third suspect at another house in Sebokeng Village. Police recovered suspected stolen property including:

All items were seized. Police believe the property was stolen during the robbery.
The three suspects are aged in their 20s. They will be handed over to Bergville SAPS and are expected to appear before the Bergville Magistrate’s Court. Bergville Detective Service has been summoned to Qwaqwa for further investigation.
