Police Seize Drugs, SANDF Uniform, and Cash

A coordinated police operation resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old man and the seizure of dagga, cash, and South African National Defence Force property on Saturday night.

Acting on intelligence received by Operation Lockdown III members, officials conducted a search at a premises on Pinedene Street, Ravensmead, at approximately 10:03 PM on February 7, 2026. The intelligence pointed to alleged drug-dealing activity and the possible concealment of firearms by gang members.

During the search, police discovered a large bag containing dagga, 118 pre-rolled dagga cigarettes, and R2,779.00 in cash, which is suspected to be the proceeds of crime. A SANDF camouflage uniform was also found on the property.

The suspect was arrested at the scene on charges of possession of and dealing in dagga, and possession of state property. He is currently detained at the Ravensmead SAPS and is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 9, 2026.
