The Gqeberha Regional Court sentenced two men on Wednesday, 04 February 2026, for the rape of an 11-year-old boy in September 2023.
Lisakhanya Tony (18) received a 15-year prison sentence. Winston Smith (32) was sentenced to life imprisonment and declared unfit to possess a firearm.
The crime occurred on 03 September 2023 at approximately 20:00 in Kuyga, Greenbushes. The accused approached a group, including the victim, who were sitting around a fire in bushes. They cornered and raped the boy. A case was reported at SAPS Kabega Park.
The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Gqeberha arrested both men on 04 September 2023. They remained in custody until their conviction on 02 February 2026.
