Police in Malamulele, Vhembe District, have arrested four men for murder. The victim is 46-year-old Andrew Mbikiza.
Mbikiza was severely assaulted by unknown persons in Jerome village on Monday, 26 January 2026. He was taken to a local hospital but died from his injuries on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at approximately 04:50.
Police initiated a manhunt after being notified of his death. An intelligence-driven operation from 30-31 January 2026 led to the arrest of four male suspects, aged between 30 and 46, in Mavambe village.
The motive is currently unknown. The suspects are expected to appear in the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 02 February 2026, on a murder charge.
