On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, the Anti-Gang Unit conducted an intelligence-driven operation at an address in Springfield Terrace, Cape Town.
Police acted on credible information and searched the premises. They recovered a 9mm pistol with one round of ammunition and a .357 Magnum revolver without a serial number.
A 33-year-old man, identified as gang-affiliated, was arrested on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition.
The suspect will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court once charged.
