A 34-year-old security officer will appear in the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, charged with murder.
The charge relates to the fatal shooting of a man in Mokopane town in the early hours of Monday, 26 January 2026.
Police report that an argument between the suspect and the deceased occurred at approximately 02:10 at a restaurant on Pretorius Street. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly fired a shot, fatally wounding the victim.
The suspect fled the scene on foot. Emergency Medical Services declared the victim dead at the scene.
Police investigations led to the swift arrest of the suspect. The firearm believed to be used in the crime was recovered.
