Police shot and killed four suspects during a shootout at a residence on Glanville Road, Woodlands, Montclair on Friday afternoon, 16 January 2026.
The suspects were wanted for business robberies in the eThekwini District, including a jewellery store robbery in Tongaat on Thursday, 15 January 2026.
Upon police arrival, an exchange of gunfire occurred. Four suspects were fatally wounded. Seven others were arrested with injuries and remain under police guard in hospital.
Three firearms were recovered. A search is ongoing for at least five suspects who evaded arrest.
The arrested suspects will appear in court when medically fit.
