Phuti Katlego Kgosana (30) appeared today in the Mogodi Periodical Court for a murder committed in Mohodi Madikana.
The case relates to an incident on Monday, 22 September 2025, at approximately 21:00. Police, acting on a tip-off, found a man with a gunshot wound at his Mohodi village residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary police report states that suspects called the victim outside, then forcibly entered his home and assaulted him and his brother. The victim was shot in the upper body. The suspects fled in a bakkie.
The investigation was handled by the Provincial Murder and Robbery Investigation Unit. Kgosana was arrested on Monday, 12 January 2026, at 16:00 during an operation in Moletjie Ga-Mabitsela. A white Chevrolet utility vehicle, suspected to be the getaway vehicle, was seized.
The court has postponed the case to Wednesday, 11 February 2026, for a formal bail application.
