On Friday, 09 January 2026, police arrested two men for possession of illicit cigarettes during Operation #SaferFestiveSeason. The suspects, aged 39 and 43, were arrested separately in the Bethal and Carolina policing areas. The seized cigarettes have an estimated total value of R93,000.
