
A major narcotics operation has resulted in the arrest of a 50-year-old Nigerian national on charges of dealing in drugs. The arrest follows a coordinated effort by multiple specialized law enforcement units.
The operation was a joint initiative involving the White River K9 Unit, the Tactical Response Team (TRT), and the Provincial Head Office Organised Crime Investigation (PHO OCI) Narcotics Unit. Together, they targeted a drug distribution operation in Nelspruit.
During a subsequent search, a police service dog from the SAPS K9 Unit located a concealed compartment within a wardrobe. The discovery led to the seizure of a substantial haul of illegal substances and cash.
The following items were recovered:

1.8 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

900 grams of cocaine.

58 large rocks of crack cocaine.

1 disco biscuit of crack cocaine.

1 full moon of crack cocaine.

229 grams of freshly manufactured crack cocaine, described as still wet.

250 grams of heroin.

Cash amounting to R44,800.
The total estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is approximately R1.2 million. The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to face formal charges in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court soon. The investigation remains ongoing.
