Police shot and killed five suspects during a shootout at Bester Area 10 in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The suspects were wanted for murder, attempted murder, attempted murder of police officers, and house robberies in the Inanda area. They had evaded capture since allegedly shooting at police officers in late November 2025.
Police acted on intelligence regarding their location. Upon arrival, suspects fired shots at officers through a door. Police returned fire, fatally wounding all five.
Four firearms were recovered. No police officers were injured. A search of the house is pending.
