Four suspects were apprehended by the South African Police Service (SAPS) on Tuesday afternoon following an incident on the Phoenix Highway and Stanmore Drive.
Initial reports indicate that SAPS officers observed a group of suspects displaying suspicious behaviour. During the encounter, the suspects allegedly opened fire on police officers. Thankfully, no SAPS members were injured during the incident.
One suspect managed to evade arrest, while four others were successfully apprehended. A 9mm pistol was also recovered at the scene. The area was cordoned off for an extended period while SAPS conducted further investigations.
The firearm recovered is believed to be linked to a murder case in the Inanda area during december 2025. A stationary security vehicle was also struck following the shootout. No Injuries Reported on the scene
