A 39-year-old man has succumbed to injuries sustained in an attack by two pitbull dogs in Vryburg on Thursday, 01 January 2026.
Preliminary police investigations reveal the dogs were allegedly involved in previous attacks on tenants at the same premises. A related case is pending before the Vryburg Magistrates’ Court and is scheduled for a hearing in February.
Following consultation with the owner, the two animals were euthanised on Saturday, 03 January 2026.
No arrests have been made at this stage. Authorities have opened an inquest into the incident.
