In a #SaferFestiveSeason operation in the Rietgat Policing Precinct, Crime Prevention Unit members arrested a suspect in Block R on the night of Monday, 22 December 2025.
The arrest was made during routine patrols and stop-and-search operations. The suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Police have launched further investigations to determine if the suspect and firearm are connected to other crimes. The weapon will undergo ballistic analysis.
