Man Sentenced to 18 Years for Murder

On 09 December 2024, at approximately 18:15, Zastron police responded to a murder in the Ezibeleni informal settlement, Matlakeng. They found 23-year-old Tshepo Johannes Senyoko with two stab wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.

An investigation by Zastron Detectives, led by Constable R. M. Dirane, resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Kamohelo Motseki the following day.

During the trial, the Regional Court heard that the victim had asked the suspect for a cigarette, leading to an argument. Motseki then fatally stabbed Senyoko. A bystander alerted the police.

Prosecutor Mr. Muller worked with police to secure a conviction. Magistrate Ms. Gela found Motseki guilty of murder and sentenced him to 18 years’ imprisonment. The victim had turned 22 years old the day before his death.
