In a pre-dawn intelligence-led operation on Thursday, 04 December 2025, police arrested a 49-year-old man and seized a cache of three unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The operation was conducted jointly by the Ulundi Tactical Response Team and the King Cetshwayo District Task Team in the Oshayanyawo area, under the Ekombe policing precinct.
A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of an illegal arsenal. The recovered items include:

An AK-47 assault rifle with three rounds of ammunition.

An HMC pistol with fourteen rounds of ammunition.

A shotgun with thirteen rounds of ammunition.
The suspect was immediately placed under arrest and has been charged with the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
He is scheduled to make his first court appearance at the eNkandla Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 05 December 2025.
