A targeted operation by the Tygerberg District Crime Combatting Unit (CDCU) on Friday night led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs in the Fisantekraal area.
The operation was launched after members received intelligence regarding drug activity at a specific premises on Kameeldoring Street. Acting on this information, the unit conducted a search of the property.
During the search, police discovered and confiscated 697 mandrax tablets and eight small packets of crystal meth. The estimated street value of the drugs is still to be determined.
Two suspects, aged 25 and 32, were arrested on the scene for possession of illegal drugs. They are expected to make their first appearance before the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to eradicate the distribution of drugs within local communities.
