A 28-year-old woman is in police custody following the fatal stabbing of her 41-year-old boyfriend at a tavern in Tikwana location in the early hours of Saturday morning. The suspect is expected to face a charge of murder in the Hoopstad Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 24 November 2025.

According to police reports, the incident came to light at approximately 01:10 on Saturday, 22 November 2025, while officers were conducting routine patrol duties. They were alerted to a stabbing incident at a local tavern and immediately rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, police discovered the body of a foreign national male lying near the gate in a pool of blood. The alleged suspect was found kneeling beside the victim, attempting to stop the bleeding from his wound. Emergency Medical Services were summoned, but the victim was declared dead at the scene.
