Galeshewe Regional Court Sentences Man to 12 Years for Girlfriend’s Murder

The Galeshewe Regional Court has handed down a 12-year prison sentence to 39-year-old Theophilus Chabalala for the brutal killing of his girlfriend in Rhythm City, Kimberley, on Saturday, 25 May 2024.

According to court proceedings, the tragic incident occurred following a domestic dispute inside their shack. During the altercation, Chabalala grabbed a knife and fatally stabbed the victim in front of their two minor children.

The court found Chabalala guilty of murder and imposed a 12-year direct imprisonment term. Additionally, he was declared unfit to possess a firearm.
