Serial Rapist Gets Life Plus 25 Years for Reign of Terror in North West Villages

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of North West, Major General Patrick Asaneng, has welcomed the life sentence and an additional 25 years imprisonment handed down to Bongani Ntoro (36) by the Molopo Regional Court on Monday, 30 June 2025.

Ntoro was convicted of a series of brutal crimes committed between 2007 and 2010 in Magogoe, Tloung, and Seweding villages under the Mmabatho policing precinct. Evidence presented in court revealed that he raped four women and a 12-year-old girl, often covering his face to conceal his identity.

The breakthrough in the case came through meticulous police work, with forensic DNA evidence linking Ntoro to the crimes. After years of evading justice, he was finally arrested at the Mahikeng Taxi Rank on 17 May 2024. The state successfully opposed bail, ensuring his detention until sentencing.

The court imposed the following sentences:

  • Counts 1 & 3 (Housebreaking with intent to rape): Six years imprisonment each.

  • Counts 2, 4 & 8 (Rape): Life imprisonment.

  • Count 5 (Sexual Offence): Six years imprisonment.

  • Counts 6 & 7 (Robbery aggravated): 15 years imprisonment each.

All sentences will run concurrently with the life term.
