Rosslyn, Gauteng – A swift multi-unit response resulted in the arrest of two suspects following the hijacking of a Suzuki vehicle in Rosslyn earlier this week.
The operation involved members of the Akasia SAPS, Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Task Team, Gauteng Traffic Wardens STT (Northern Corridor), Tshenolo P.I., and the Wezindlela Group. The teams sprang into action after receiving a backup request from Cartrack regarding the hijacked vehicle.
According to reports, the suspects had posed as Uber customers before forcibly taking the vehicle. Authorities tracked the Suzuki and initiated a high-speed pursuit, which ended when the suspects collided with another vehicle.
Both individuals were apprehended at the scene and face charges for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.
The successful arrest highlights the effectiveness of collaborative policing efforts in combating crime.
