An elderly woman, 84, was allegedly raped on Wednesday morning after breaking into her home in Mookgopong

Limpopo. – An elderly woman, 84, was allegedly raped on Wednesday morning after breaking into her home in Mookgopong at about 1:30.

According to Brig. Hlulani Mashaba allegedly slept the elderly victim when the suspect gained access through a window. After allegedly raping her, he fell asleep. The woman was able to escape and went to the neighbors for help. Investigation was instituted immediately, but the suspect apparently managed to flee.

Police and emergency services were called, after which the Victim was taken to hospiat for medical treatment.

Police have registered a case of housebreaking and rape that will be investigated by Modimolle-GKS.
