Farm attack suspects escape drones in mountain – Caledon

A farm attack occurred around 21:00, 23 August 2023, on a farm in Klein Sandfontein, Caledon area, Western Cape province.

Three unknown men gained access to a house through a dog door at the back door whereupon the house owner, an elderly lady was assaulted and seriously injured.

The suspects fled with 3 flat screen televisions in the direction of the N2.

Help arrived on scene very quickly where they began tracing the suspects and found a large television near the N2. Specialize Agri Protection’s tracking dogs and Afriform Louerens provided assistance with drones and many community members from the area.

The suspects were found in a mountain with drones and they were followed until members went up the mountain to make arrests.

Unfortunately, due to terrain, the suspects escaped and could not be located again.

Investigations are ongoing.
