The Rapid Response Services (RRS) of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Gauteng collectively arrested over 70 suspects, recovered nearly 45 stolen motor vehicles and approximately 11 firearms within a period of a week from 7 to 13 July 2023.
In addition, over 30 suspects were arrested for possession of and dealing in drugs in separate incidents.
Rapid Response Services comprises of Highway Patrol, Flying Squad and K9 unit.
The successes are the result of concentrated operations, vehicle check points and intensive patrols across Gauteng.
