Billionaires playground’: Inside Johann Rupert’s L’Ormarins Estate

Johann Rupert’s billionaire status has offered him a soft life on a silver platter, and he has a billion-rand L’Ormarins Estate to show for it.

The celebrated South African multi-billionaire Johann Rupert calls his L’Ormarins Estate home. Of interest, the estate was owned by the late Anthoniji Rupert before it was passed to Johann.

The estate is located in the Franschhoek area and boasts around nine vineyards with state-of-the-art Terra del Capo cellars, the only kind in Africa. The nine vineyards include:

• Merlot

• Sauvignon Blanc

• Cabernet Sauvignon

Terra del Capo Tasting Room

The testing room gives one an overview of the other side of the estate. It also offers an Italian-inspired Terra del Capo range.

Antothonij Rupert Tasting Room

Fully furnished with Cape Dutch style and priceless artefacts, the tasting room offers the best scenic views of Franschhoek Wine Valley and Groot Drakenstein Mountains.

Drakenstein Stud Farm

Apart from wine valleys, the estate also boasts a stud farm. Racing horses are trained and sold from the estate.

Franschhoek Motor Museum

The motor museum has more than 220 Johann Rupert car collections—a wide array of vintage and modern exotic cars from 1898.

The estate is said to have several guest houses, but little is known if Rupert stays there.

JOHANN RUPERTS ALLEGED CAPE TOWN RESIDENCE

A few months ago, reports had it that the billionaire stays in one of the leafy suburbs of Cape Town in an R40 million mansion.

Several pictures made rounds on social media of Johann Rupert’s alleged house.

In the wake of the daring allegations, the billionaire has managed to distance himself from the rumour, only leaving Mzansi to guess.
