SAPS Arrests Five Female Drug Mules at OR Tambo with R5 Million in Narcotics

 The South African Police Service (SAPS), in collaboration with Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), arrested five South African women at OR Tambo International Airport on Saturday, 28 March 2026, for alleged drug trafficking. The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of more than R5 million.

According to preliminary reports, the suspects were en route to China via Dubai at the time of their arrest.

A search conducted by authorities revealed drugs concealed inside the women’s sneakers, underwear, and private parts.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, facing charges of drug trafficking.

Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
